Newsletter: Unity in Resistance

Sunday afternoon, over two thousand people gathered at the Brian Coyle center to resist Trump’s executive order on immigration. We heard from community members of different races, religions, and stories of how they are impacted. We will be sending out action steps in the coming weeks.

Updates

  • We have office hours! My team will be available every Friday from 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. at 504 Cedar Ave S. Please email Camille (camille@ilhanomar.com) for an appointment. The entrance to the office is behind the building. Follow the chain link fence, turn right, and you’ll see a path to the back lot. Come in the door with the Ilhan sign & our office is at the top of the stairs.
  • My team hosted another Coffee and Kulan event. Monday night, we had a conversation with students at Daybreak Press Global Workshop. Over 70 students from the University of Minnesota, Augsburg College, and surrounding neighborhoods were in attendance! Special thank you to our co-hosts: Women for Political Change, the Black Student Union, the Minnesota International Student Association, and the Al-Madinah Cultural Center!
  • Find the bills I have chief authored here and co-authored here. For specific legislative updates, please subscribe to my capitol listserv here.
