Ilhan is best for students

Dear Friend,

As Student Body Leaders at the University of Minnesota, we have spent a lot of time working with the Minnesota Legislature. We represent over 30,000 students, yet our current State Representative is rarely present on campus, in our meetings, or as a collaborative advocate for higher education at the State Capitol. Many students choose to disengage with the political process because they are not recognized or heard by our current leadership.

Ilhan Omar offers a chance for student issues to be prioritized at the State Capitol. She listens to our voices. She has personally shown up to support our efforts, consistently engages with us, and has actively worked to involve an overwhelming number of young people in her campaign.

In a world where it’s increasingly difficult to thrive with a college degree, or obtain one without the barriers of extreme debt, students need an advocate at the Capitol. Join Ilhan’s campaign today to make sure that college remains affordable and accessible for everyone.

Since 2008, funding for the University has declined by 26%, yet our recent State Budget surpluses have not gone towards supporting higher education. Ilhan knows that to build a strong economy and state, we need to invest in education.

You can learn more about her plans on August 1st at a Candidate Debate at the Humphrey School. Reserve your free tickets here!

Ilhan wants to build a world in which young people are empowered to take part in our democracy and stand up for what they believe in. If you want to live in that world too, please invest in her campaign today.

Forward together,

Abeer Syedah & Sam Marlow
