We have the power to win!

Dear Friend,

Ilhan and I have very similar backgrounds. Like many residents of District 60B, we are both Somali-American, Muslim women. Ilhan is a historic candidate, but she is also the candidate who knows the district best. When it comes to understanding the community, she is the most educated and experienced candidate in this race.

I volunteer almost every day to register voters, drive people to early voting locations, doorknock and make calls for Ilhan.  Her vision of a community that is built on the shared values of ALL residents will allow this district to move towards progress, together.

Ilhan inspires me. She gives me hope that as a Somali-American Muslim woman, I can do anything I want to do. But that’s not the only reason why you should vote for her. You should vote for her because she understands the needs of long-time residents, students, and the East African community in the district. Ilhan will be able to unite our voices to make real change in this district and this state. Her campaign has already built solidarity between those communities. Because of that, I know we will win.

Forward together,

Maymuna Sahal
