We've had conversations, engaged community, and made progress towards achieving equity and justice within our district and state. We must continue this work and support bold progressives throughout the country who are challenging the status quo and fighting for unity and co-governance. We must support and uplift fierce leaders like Rashida Tlaib.
Rashida is a friend and mentor, and she never compromises her values in the face of adversity. A longtime resident of Detroit and the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, Rashida made history by becoming the first female Muslim elected to the Michigan Legislature and only second Muslim woman to serve in a state legislature in the country.
In 2018 Rashida is seriously considering running to represent the people of Michigan's 13th Congressional District. With healthcare, our immigrant communities, and higher education under attack, we need Raisha's voice in D.C.
We need Rashida in Congress, fighting for equity and justice for all Americans. She'll have our back in Washington-- stand up and show her we have hers.
"Help me connect with families from every corner of the district and in between. Contribute today to help me explore running for U.S. Congress by ensuring that it is the best decision to move the 13th forward."
